Anime Expo hits a full swing as the first day of the event shows some interesting issues. Large crowds are always expected at this event, but never so much as to the five hour estimated line to get into the center. Guests lined up in the thankfully cooler weather than last year in attempts to get into the halls earlier than even 6 am the morning of. The very same day however an earthquake did hit California, and news outlets believed what was the convention center evacuating to be just the crowds waiting to get in. What a way to start of the con!

The crowds hail from fans of all ages and walks of life to see the great movie lineups, guests, performances, and of course goods to buy. The halls are filled; and the crowds are definitely there to live the hype of being the west coast's largest anime convention.
We will see how Anime Expo will figure out the next days and how they decide to overcome the overbearing crowds.
